Police officer injured in Spring Garden crash

SPRING GARDEN (WPVI) -- A Philadelphia police officer was injured in a two vehicle crash in the Spring Garden section Saturday morning.

The accident occurred around 8:55 a.m. when an officer was responding to a robbery on the 1300 block of Broad Street.

The officer suffered minor injuries and was taken to Hahnemann Hospital.

He is expected to be treated and then released.

Police say the other driver was not injured.

The police vehicle sustained heavy front end damage.

There driver was not charged.
