PORT RICHMOND (WPVI) -- Police say the deaths of a woman and man found fatally shot inside an SUV in Port Richmond was a case of murder-suicide.

Investigators say a 49-year-old man shot the 37-year-old woman sitting with him in the blue Honda CRV then turned the gun on himself.

It happened around 10 p.m. Thursday in the 3500 block of Amber Street.

Officers arrived to find two bodies inside the SUV: a woman in the driver's seat and a man in the front passenger's seat.

Both had been shot in the head. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

Police found a semiautomatic handgun inside the vehicle, which they say is registered to a person in the area.

The windows of the SUV were down, so there was no shattered glass. No bullet holes were found in vehicle.

The names of the deceased have not been released.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
