Clinton supporters fired up after Philadelphia rally, concert

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Hillary Clinton electrified supporters Saturday night after a two-hour event at the Mann Music Center in Philadelphia, packed with star power from Shonda Rimes, Debra Messing and headliner and longtime Clinton supporter Katy Perry.

"I thought it was spectacular. I thought tonight was great and it moved us," said Nickie Robertson of West Berlin, New Jersey.

"It was a really great concert. There was a lot of energy. It was great to see Hillary, of course, and also Katy Perry was a lot of fun," said Elizabeth Spackman of Fairmount.

"It was spectacular. Happy to be here, my friend invited me. I'm leaving excited, and I'm going to get more people to vote in my community. I'm going to knock on doors," said the Rev. Stanford Miller of West Berlin, New Jersey.

Clinton came out to a crowd of about 14,000 supporters. She urged them to get out and vote, reminding them Pennsylvania may well determine who wins the presidency.

"When your kids and grandkids ask you what you did in 2016, when it was all on the line, I want you to be able to say, 'I voted for a better, fairer, stronger America where everyone has a chance at the American dream," said Clinton.

Longtime supporters, like the Rev. Stanford Miller, grew even more impassioned Saturday night after hearing Clinton speak.

"There's a lot of young people inside, and they're excited. They're still 'Feeling the Bern,' and now we have the Hillary Bern, and now we are just going to set this country on fire the way it's supposed to be," said Miller.

But even fired-up voters can't ignore numerous national polls that point to a potential nail-biter come Tuesday night.

"I think it's going to be close, but Hillary wins, and we all win when she wins," said Robertson.
