PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Organizers of the 2016 Democratic National Convention here in Philadelphia announced a new registration portal as they continue to ask for volunteers.

The volunteer registration page is posted here.

Through the new portal, organizers say you can create a password-protected account and create a profile, which officially registers you for volunteer opportunities.

You can select and area of interest, and volunteers can be as young as 14.

Volunteer needs will be in the following areas:

  • Volunteer Leaders;
  • Administrative and Office Support;
  • Hospitality and Hotel;
  • Operations, Logistics, and Delivery Support;
  • Press and Communications;
  • Social Media;
  • Technology and IT;
  • Transportation;
  • Venue and Event Support

The 7,000 volunteers who previously signed up were transferred to the new system, DNC organizers say.

The Democratic National Convention will take place in Philadelphia July 25-28, 2016.
