How do you decide what to name a new kitty?

You could go with something from popular culture, like Elsa, the snow queen in "Frozen." You could use a person's name, like Charlie or Lucy, to make the cat feel like part of the family. Or you could go with the classic "kitty" (Yes, it works for either gender!)

Of course, you probably don't want to use any of those names if you're going for originality. They're all on the "Most Popular Kitten Names of 2014" list.

Vet Street, an advice website for pet owners, put together the lists of the ten most popular girl cat names and boy cat names using its database of 475,297 felines. The trendiest name, the site said, is Elsa, which saw the highest jump of any name, boy or girl.
