VIDEO: Summer rentals going swimmingly at the Shore
The rental market at the Jersey Shore is heating up.

OCEAN CITY, N.J. (WPVI) -- If this weather has you thinking about summers at the beach, you're not alone. The rental market at the Jersey Shore is heating up.

The rental signs are everywhere and people are noticing. Real estate agents say there's a 25 to 30 percent spike in shore rentals over last year, and they've got something for everyone.

Tony Florentine from Fox Real Estate tells us, "We have rentals starting anywhere from $700 all the way up in the tens of thousands. It really depends on what you're looking for."

And speaking of what you're looking for, rental agents say it's smart to figure that out before you start shopping for a rental.

Broker Gary Jessel says, "How many bedrooms, how close to the beach you want to be, do you want an ocean view, do you want to be near the Boardwalk and the rides? ... How much are you willing to pay is always an important thing."

Jackie Arrow started renting decades ago in Ocean City and now lives here.

Jackie says, "We started out with two weeks, and then we rented for a month down the south end, and then he built a house in the Gardens and we have had a house for 23 years."

Rental agents say warm weather like we've been having reminds people it's time to explore the possibility of a summer rental if they haven't done it already.

Denise Conway of Sicklerville says, "It's beautiful we're down here, Nora likes the ocean, she likes going in."

By the way, that's 3-year-old Nora Pleczynski getting her feet wet - not me.

Denise tells us, "It's wonderful we love the ocean we love coming down it's beautiful in Ocean City."

Gail Hingston has been renting a place for a week and says she's coming back for another two weeks later this summer.

"Just go online, you can find anything you want - any price range, anywhere," Gail said.

Rental agents say if you can't afford summer prices, don't give up. You can get some pretty good bargains during the off season and the shoulder season - that's June and September. Don't be afraid to ask.
