Elderly man threatened with knife during home invasion in Somerton

Police are searching for two suspects who threatened an elderly man with a knife during a robbery and home invasion in the city's Somerton section.

SOMERTON (WPVI) -- Police are searching for two suspects who threatened an elderly man with a knife during a robbery and home invasion in the city's Somerton section.

The incident happened shortly before 3 p.m. on October 9.

Police say the 79-year-old man was inside his home on the 11000 block of Philmont Terrace when two unknown men forced open the front door.

Once inside, the suspects placed a knife to the man's throat and stated: "Where is the money?"

The pair got away with an unknown amount of cash and jewelry from inside the home before fleeing east on Tomlinson Road.

Both suspects were caught on surveillance video prior to the home invasion walking west on Tomlinson Road.

The victim suffered minor injuries to his right arm and hand.

The first suspect is described as a white male, 20-years-old, 5'9 tall and 200 lbs. with a medium build, brown hair and beard. He was wearing a black bandana, black hooded sweatshirt, dark colored shirt with writing on the front, camouflage pants, black Nike sneakers, and armed with a knife.

The second suspect is described as a white male in his early 20s, 6'0" tall and 200 lbs. with a medium build and brown hair. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with a white design inside the hood, blue jeans, and brown boots.
