Santa makes surprise delivery to Bucks County family

FAIRLESS HILLS, Pa. (WPVI) -- Santa wanted to start his journey this year in Fairless Hills and needed the help of the Falls Township Police Department.

"Earlier in the year, Santa Claus contacted the police department," said Cpl. Steve Langan.

He tells Action News Santa gave their police union an important mission - to help him deliver gifts to one family in need.

"It's out chance to give back to the community we work for," said Sgt. Sven Beauchmin.

Lori Wright is mom to Cheyenne, Madison and Julian, ages 10, 5 and 4, who all couldn't believe their eyes as Santa presented them with candy canes. Seeing him on your front lawn is a whole lot different from writing him letters.

Madison tells Action News she asked Santa for, "A Barbie Dreamhouse, a kitchen set, Barbie's."

For Julian, cars and a race track was on his wish list.

Officers carried in gift after gift as well as Christmas dinner donated by McCaffreys Market.

The family couldn't resist giving Santa huge hugs for a much-needed visit.

"I recently lost my job in November so of all times to become unemployed," said Lori Wright.

Not wanting Santa to leave empty-handed the kids chased after him with cookies, then went inside to see the bottom of the tree that minutes before was bare.

The kids were begging to open their presents, but mom and dad said they were going to have to wait until Christmas morning like every other year.

As for Santa, it was time to go drop off the truck and pick up the reindeer - after all, there's lots to do.
