Scarecrow festival and Philly half marathon highlight the weekend's best.

The start of fall is still a few days away, but the fall-themed events are here. Matt O'Donnell has your weekend best bets, highlighted by Scarecrow Fest and "Goldbergs" Night with the Phillies.

FAMILY FUN AT SCARECROW FESTIVAL (FREE)

Fall fun begins in Peddler's Village this weekend. The Scarecrow Festival features scarecrow-making workshops, pumpkin painting, live music and children's activities. The event runs Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and the scarecrows will be on display for competition through October 29th. SCARECROW FESTIVAL

AND THEY'RE OFF AT THE ROCK 'N' ROLL RACES

Fitness and fun come together for the Rock 'n' Roll Philadelphia Half-Marathon, 5K and 10K. The races begin and end at Eakins Oval Saturday and Sunday morning. RACE WEEKEND INFO

PHILLY ZOO HOSTS FIRST-EVER OKTOBEARFEST

The Philadelphia Zoo is throwing it's first-ever OktoBEARfest on Saturday from 5-8 p.m. A $55 ticket gets you unlimited beer sampling, a souvenir tasting cup, entertainment, games, animal and keeper meet-and-greets and more, while $35 tickets are available for non-drinkers. The deal includes free parking or shuttle service to and from 30th Street Station. PHILLY ZOO EVENTS

N-2N STREET FEST TRIBUTE TO PRINCE (FREE)

Saturday is the 23rd Neighborhood-to-Neighborhood Street Festival in West Philadelphia. The theme this year is "A Tribute to Prince" with performances by Questlove, Sheila E. and more. The festival runs from noon-8 p.m. Saturday at 50th and Baltimore Avenue. FEATURED PERFORMERS AND SCHEDULES

'THE GOLDBERGS' NIGHT AT CITIZEN'S BANK PARK

The Phillies host the Oakland Athletics for a weekend series, with Friday being 'The Goldbergs' Night. Adam Goldberg, the Philadelphia-native who created the hit ABC show, and Troy Gentile, the show's star will be in attendance. PHILLIES TICKETS

WALNUT ST. THEATRE TRAVELS TO ANCIENT ROME

Stephen Sondheim's classic 'A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Forum' is playing at the Walnut Street Theatre. The comedy musical, set in ancient Rome, features plot twists and turns with cases of mistaken identity, slamming doors and showgirls. Performances run through October 22nd. SHOW TICKETS

CIRCUS CLASSES AND PERFORMANCES (FREE)

Philadelphia School of Circus Arts is opening a new facility at 6452 Greene Street in Philadelphia's West Mt. Airy section and it's celebrating with a weekend of free circus classes, tours and performances. You can sign up for the activities on the school's website. INTRO TO PHILLY CIRCUS
