NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are investigating a deadly shooting that led to a partial house collapse in North Philadelphia.
It happened before 12:00 a.m. Thursday in the 1600 block of Seybert Street.
A man was shot multiple times while sitting in the driver's seat of a 2008 Hyundai.
Police say it appears the victim threw the car into reverse to escape the shooter and backed into a vacant row house, causing the front of the building to collapse.
Firefighters responded to the scene and found the car buried in rubble and the victim trapped inside.
He had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at 12:06 a.m.
Police investigators found 18 shell casings at the scene.
Action News is told they are checking video recorded by several surveillance cameras in the area for clues.
