Man shot multiple times, critically wounded in Point Breeze

POINT BREEZE (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police are investigating a shooting in the city's Point Breeze section.

It happened at 10 a.m. in the 1900 block of Morris Street.

17th District officers arrived to find a 56-year-old man lying in the street.

Initial reports indicated the man had been shot eight times in the upper body.

He was taken to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in critical condition.

Investigators were on the scene gathering evidence, working to determine who shot the victim and why.
