On Saturday, October 1, Barnes & Noble locations are hosting a free Lego Star Wars event for kids 8 and up, starting at 4 p.m. Kids can also take home a free Lego Star Wars toy!

October 2 is the first Sunday of the month and the Barnes Foundation is offering free admission. The museum is hosting an art-filled maker fair with a dance party and more.

On Saturday October 1, Opera on the Mall at Independence Mall is hosting a free, big-screen HD broadcast performance from Opera Philadelphia. Bring chairs, a blanket, a picnic dinner and enjoy!

October 1 is also the Midtown Village Fall Festival! On Saturday, 13th Street is packed with tons of free fun and entertainment, but bring some cash for food, drinks and shopping. The festival runs from noon until 8 pm.
