PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- If you love club stores like Costco, Sam's Club and BJ's, there's big money to be saved by buying in bulk.

But there's a trick to it. If you're smart and you know how to stretch, you can really get a big bang for your buck here.

MSN Money rounded up a list of 12 things you can buy in bulk that will save you money on your groceries for years to come.

The key is to think versatile, easy to store and things that don't expire quickly or easily.

This includes things like rice, oats, dried beans and quinoa.

White rice can last more than 30 years if stored properly, but brown rice has a higher oil content, so it typically spoils after six months.

Also condiments are big on this list like pure maple syrup and pure vanilla extract - pure is the key word here as it keeps longer.

Other condiments include soy sauce, hot sauce, apple cider vinegar and honey. Scientists have found perfectly preserved honey in the Egyptian pyramids that even at over three thousand years old is still edible and safe to eat.
