Birthday wishes for others

WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- A 5-year-old girl from Delaware chose to use her birthday to help put smiles on the faces of kids who are in the hospital.

Sadie Perry turned 5 on September 28th and asked her party guests to bring children's art supplies instead of gifts.

From paper, to crayons and markers, paint and more, Sadie collected over 100 items.

Friday, she and Mom, Elizabeth hand delivered them, on a children's wagon, to A.I. Dupont Hospital for Children.

"She loves art and we thought no better way to share her love and collect something, a good friend of mine did it for her daughter's birthday, so we thought it was great idea to do it for hers."

One of Sadie's favorite items she donated were wooden, treasure boxes.

They can be painted any color and the kids can use them to collect special items.
