Drexel Hill's annual Hero Ceremony

DREXEL HILL, Pa. (WPVI) -- With the anniversary of 9/11 approaching communities across the country, including the Delaware Valley, are remembering local heroes.

Deputy Fire Chief Michael Morgan was honored at a special ceremony Friday.

Morgan was a long-time member of the Upper Darby Fire Department until he passed away from a brief illness in June.

The tribute was part of Drexel Hill's annual Hero Ceremony.

It was held in the courtyard at Drexel Hill Middle School.
