Two families were joined together to reunite a lost wedding ring with its owner thanks to the power of social media.

WILDWOOD, N.J. (WPVI) -- Two families were joined together to reunite a lost wedding ring with its owner thanks to the power of social media.

Two posts on Facebook by two separate families went up almost simultaneously on Sunday.

On one end, a wife going for a shot in the dark to find her husband Justin's wedding ring that he admittedly lost in the ocean in Wildwood Crest. She asked for everyone to share the post and prayed that the ring turned up.

Two families were joined together to reunite a lost wedding ring with its owner thanks to the power of social media.

Ironically, it turns out Justin proposed to his wife, Katie, at that very spot on Louisville Avenue where the ring was lost.

At the same time, a Facebook post went out from the family who found the ring, also asking people to share it so they can find the owner.

Tracey Blanda says her son R.J. and his cousin Patrick found it in the sand.

Two families were joined together to reunite a lost wedding ring with its owner thanks to the power of social media.

The two little heroes begged the adults to post the picture, truly believing they would find the real owner.

Around 400 shares later - they did!

Justin was reunited with his ring in the same spot where he proposed.

Katie and Justin tell Action News that they believe in the power of miracles and social media.

They also praise the honesty of two little kids playing in the sand, all working together to save the day.
