A tough topic for students from Trenton High School in a debate Friday

TRENTON, N.J. (WPVI) -- A tough topic for students from Trenton High School in a debate Friday.

One debater argued "the death penalty is imposed not only in a freakish and discriminatory manner, but also in some cases upon defendants who are actually innocent."

The team took on the topic of capital punishment against Delaware State University.

Trenton has had a successful run against some of the top debate teams on the college level.

They've even beaten Princeton and Rutgers.
