CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- Juror appreciation week continues in the city, including various events recognizing residents who've given their time for jury duty.
At Philadelphia city council Thursday morning, a special resolution was passed, honoring jurors as quote: "indispensable pillars of the american justice system".
Judge Sheila Woods-Skipper, president of the city's common pleas court, accepted the resolution, and she said 20 percent of Philadelphians ignore jury summons when it comes, which continues to slow down the process.
