Local wedding venue helping brides after unexpected closure

NEWARK, Del. (WPVI) -- One local wedding venue is trying to help some pretty devastated brides and grooms have their "happily ever after."

Last week, a venue in Maryland called the Elk Manor Winery closed with no notice.

Now, unless couples bought event cancellation insurance, there's no chance they will get their money back.

Newark Country Club in Delaware is now offering to waive their room fee of about $1,000 for couples left without a wedding venue after Elk Manor's sudden closure.

Some of those brides and grooms stand to lose up to 30 grand from the sudden closure of elk manor.
