Conshohocken police comforts autistic boy during July 4th fireworks display

CONSHOHOCKEN (WPVI) -- A Montgomery County police officer's simple and small but powerful gesture towards an autistic boy over the July 4th holiday is going viral.

Sheena Jennings, a mom from Malvern, was so moved that she cries when telling the story.

In the viral Facebook post, you see Sheena, her 10 year old son Nick, and a Conshohocken police officer.

Sheena tells Action News that nick has autism, and sometimes fireworks can be a little overwhelming for him.

She says she struggled with the decision of whether or not to take him, but she's glad they went.

The officer to the right held Nick's hand and told him: "If you get scared you squeeze it, I will hold yours and keep you safe."

Facebook helped the Jennings find Officer Palmer to thank him for the small gesture that let them know that all in the world will be okay and kindness comes above all.

So far, her photo has been shared almost 500 times.
