"Patriots and Pirates" exhibit explores founding of US Navy

PENN'S LANDING (WPVI) -- Philadelphia's Independence Seaport Museum has a new exhibit, and Tuesday night Action News got a sneak peak.

"Patriots and Pirates" features a full sized model of a boat called "Diligence of 1797" right inside the Penn's Landing museum.

It delves into the founding story of the US Navy, which happened right here in Philadelphia.

The new permanent exhibit opens to the public Wednesday.
