Philadelphia leaders are now opening even more city streets to pedestrians later this month

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia leaders are now opening even more city streets to pedestrians later this month, as a part of "Philly Free Streets".

The idea, which was announced last month, has received so much support that three more miles of roadways will be now closed too.

The route goes from river to river along South Street, up along the Schuylkill River Trail and out MLK Drive to the Falls Bridge.

Streets in west fairmount park will also be closed for activities.

All of this is happening on Saturday, September 24 from 8am until one o'clock in the afternoon.
