Serving the communities through education

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- 25 new community schools are being created to better serve Philadelphia students and their entire families.

Mayor Jim Kenney told us about the plan to do this over the next four years.

Current schools will be transformed into community service centers, providing more resources for the surrounding neighborhoods.

Nine schools will undergo this transformation in the first round, the rest will be announced later.
