MAPLE SHADE, N.J. (WPVI) -- Friday's sizzling temperatures didn't stop some south jersey students from kicking off a a cool community project.

Around 30 teenagers from Maple Shade High School, took part in a volunteer clean-up effort, at this neighborhood park.

Not only did they plant flowers, they also set out to improve the eco-system here, by cleaning the pond, in a special effort to save the frogs.

The kids recently met with a local environmental firm to develop a strategy, before starting their restoration project.
