Teen inspires flood victims, plays beautiful music among debris

BATON ROUGE, La. (WPVI) -- A viral act is spreading hope through neighborhoods devastated by severe flooding in Louisiana.

In the video, 16-year-old Mark Chasuk sits down at a damaged piano surrounded by flood debris.

Mark says this was all spontaneous. He was helping friends clean up from the flood and wondered if the family keepsake was still playable.

Much to his surprise - it was! And it's not just his talent that's going viral.

People are also finding inspiration in his outlook on life.

"In the darkest times, whenever life gets you down you should always look for the bright side of life," he said.

And that's an attitude we can all learn from.
