The continued sound of music

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Music students at the Franklin Learning Center got a big boost Thursday, receiving brand new musical instruments.

New drums, guitars and microphones were handed out.

It was made possible by the non profits Little Kids Rock and BeachGlow.

The group raised money to make sure music education continues in the School District of Philadelphia.

Music student Isabelle Gil was happy about the donation "Getting this donation means so much because it means i can further expand my love for music and and school can further expand its music program, which is amazing"

The donation totals 30 thousand dollars and several Philadelphia schools will receive the new musical instruments along with music training for teachers.
