Jim Gardner accepted the dare from actor David Boreanaz to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and nominated some familiar faces from Action News.

Jim Gardner accepted the dare from actor David Boreanaz to do the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and nominated some familiar faces from Action News.

Jim completed the challenge in the 6abc parking lot on Friday with help from Action News producers Jamie Pschorr and Matt Simansky.

Afterwards, he nominated Action News' very own Cecily Tynan, Ducis Rodgers, Jamie Apody and Vernon Odom.

Cecily accepted right away. Stay tuned to Action News on Monday to see her take on the challenge.

The Ice Bucket Challenge is a viral effort to raise awareness and money for ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig's Disease.

Once challenged, participants have 24 hours to dump ice water on their head on donate to charity.

Thus far, the ALS foundation has received more than $9 million in donations compared to $30,000 during the same period a year ago.
