World Meeting Of Families organizer honored

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- The 47th annual Pepperpot Awards recognized the woman at the helm of this summer's biggest event on the Parkway.

The awards recognize best-in-class public relations campaigns, tactics and professionals.

Philadelphia Mayor Michael Nutter handed out this year's integrity award to Donna Crilley Farrell.

Farrell served as the executive director for the World Meeting of Families.

That event closed with a visit by Pope Francis and an open air Mass celebrated by the pontiff himself.
