Man dies after South Philadelphia shooting

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are investigating a shooting in South Philadelphia that left a man dead.

Police were called around 4:20 p.m. Thursday to the intersection of Carlisle and Ritner for a report of shots fired.

Upon arrival, they found a male in his early 20s down on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds to the back.

He was transported to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was pronounced dead.

Police are seeking a full-size dark colored SUV that fled the scene.

No word on a motive or any possible suspects.
