Southampton Road in NE Philadelphia flooded due to water main break

A portion of a major roadway in Northeast Philadelphia is underwater due to a broken water main.

The Philadelphia Water Department responded to a break on Southampton Road near the Roosevelt Boulevard.

They say a 12 inch main broke.

There is no word on what caused the break at this time.

The Water Department has not indicated if the break has had any impact on service.

Southampton Road is closed from the Boulevard to McNulty both directions.
