Police: Man fatally shoots girlfirend in head in Southwest Philadelphia

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police have arrested a man for fatally shooting his girlfriend in Southwest Philadelphia.

It happened around 3:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 2600 block of Muhlfeld Street.

Police say a 64-year-old man shot his 36-year-old girlfriend once in the head.

She was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where she died of her injuries.

The 64-year-old man was taken into custody.

No names have been released.
