Son charged with murder of 82-year-old father in Overbrook

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police have charged a man in connection with the murder of his father who was stabbed to death in Southwest Philadelphia.

Eighty-two-year-old Solomon Gethers was found dead Wednesday in his home on the 5700 block of Woodbine Avenue.

Police say he had stab wounds to his face and the back of his head.

The man's 29-year-old son, who also lived in the home, is being charged with murder.
