The crowd spent over a minute applauding the former Phillies second baseman during his first at bat.

Fans did cheer when Phillies pitcher Vince Velasquez struck out Utley soon after the ovation, however, the applauds were not as loud.

However, Utley bounced back with a home run in the fifth inning - again receiving another thunderous ovation.

The applause went on for so long, Utley came back out from the Dodgers' dugout to give a curtain call to fans.
Utley followed that with a grand slam in the seventh inning to bring the Dodgers' lead to 13-2.
The final score: Dodgers 15, Phillies 5.
Utley was traded to the Los Angeles Dodgers last summer after 13 seasons with the Phils.

He was instrumental in the Phillies becoming the 2008 World Series Champions.
His status was cemented in 2006 when beloved broadcaster Harry Kalas declared: "Chase Utley, you are the man!" after Utley scored from second on a groundout in a game at Atlanta.
