SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- It is officially Wentzylvania after what turned out to be a blowout game for the Eagles, continuing the Steelers' 50-year drought in Philly.

"E-A-G-L-E-S. Eagles. Carson Wentz is the man baby," said Monty Gee of South Philadelphia.

The battle for supremacy in "The Keystone State" kicked off with some cautious optimism from Eagles fans at The Bayou Bar and Grill. Some leaned on an impressive record.

"Pittsburgh's never won here in 50 years and no exceptions today," said Paul Karcsh, manager and owner of The Bayou Bar and Grill.

Others like Jim McFadden dressed up in all things Eagles for good luck.

"Anything, anything Eagles attire. As much as you possibly can," said McFadden of Chester Springs.

But most looked to impressive quarterback 23-year-old Carson Wentz out of North Dakota State, who's proven time and again, he's no ordinary rookie.

"Wentz looks like a really smart quarterback - not just athletic, but smart," said Tony Casselli, manager of The Bayou Bar and Grill.

"I'm on the Wentz wagon. I'm riding it. We're up front," said Rob Fisher of Mannyunk.

The anxiety didn't last long. By the third quarter, Eagles were leading by a whopping 31 points, and Steelers fans slowly started to file out of Chickie's & Pete's.

"Well, it's over in my heart," said Mike Bradshaw of Atlanta, Georgia.

Mike Bradshaw drove all the way up from Atlanta to visit friends and family. It's not quite what he was hoping for.

"It was, but the opposite. I predicted it 35 to 3 that the Steelers were going to wing 35 to 3," said Bradshaw, adding maybe the universe misheard him.

The Eagles wouldn't score in the fourth quarter. But would go on to win 34-3 to remain unbeaten.

"Carson Wentz is the man, ain't no rookie, we don't have no rookie, there's no rookie on our team. That man is a real quarter back, he's going all the way," said Gee.
