Eagles quarterback Carson Wentz spent the off-season working on his throwing mechanics and footwork with a specialist who has also trained Tom Brady.

Now in camp, Wentz says these slight changes are second nature - although Doug Pederson and the other Eagles coaches will remind him from time to time.

"You trust your coaches," Wentz said at a press conference Friday. "You know, sometimes when you seek outside sources and different things, you gotta try and find a happy medium. You know, I don't just trust everybody that has an opinion."

"Human nature says you always go back to what you know," said Coach Pederson. "But the thing with Carson is he can forget about that and he can press on with the new teaching and the information that he's been given and now that's the growth. He's done a great job."

Wentz is noticeably more comfortable in the pocket and with his drop so far in training camp.

"He go through his progression so quick now, it's way faster. Like I said, he's more comfortable in the pocket. He know where everybody going to be at. It's night and day," said Eagles left tackle Jason Peters.

This has allowed Wentz and the Eagles to open up the playbook, and everyone has been open to brainstorming ideas.

"OK. What can we tweak? Where can we improve? I'm bringing some ideas to coaches, they're bringing all sorts of ideas. Everyone kind of does their own thing, brings back some ideas," said Wentz.

Speaking of Wentz's progress and development, he's been without his number one receiver, Alshon Jeffery, for four days now because of a shoulder injury. But Wentz is not worried about timing and chemistry going forward.

"Obviously, I wish he would have been out there, but things happen. So, I'm excited to get him back.

Wentz is hoping to have Jeffery back Thursday in Green Bay, their first pre-season game, to see how all the changes come together.
