SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The citywide celebration of Monday night's victory took a hit this afternoon with the news that Jordan Hicks and Jason Peters are out for the season. Fans are hoping the Eagles will adjust and find a way to keep on winning.

Carson Wentz shook off the slow start and the 24-year-old carried the Eagles to a solid 34-24 win over the Redskins. Eagles fans are so impressed by what they're seeing from their young quarterback.

"It was incredible," said Anthony Nguyen, of South Philadelphia. "All the plays that he was running. All the calls that he was making."

The city was celebrating - and then came the bad news. Both left tackle Jason Peters and middle linebacker Jordan Hicks will miss the remainder of the season. Peters tore both his MCL and ACL in his right knee. Hicks is out with a torn Achilles' tendon. Fans are hoping the Birds can just... adjust.

"Jason Peters - that could hurt. That's Carson Wentz' blindside," said Mark Stinsman, of South Philadelphia. "But knowing the Eagles and seeing how they played this year, I think they can adjust accordingly and I don't think it should be a problem going forward."

And winning they are - 6-1 so far this season. Fans are confident they can keep the wins coming.

"It was a good game. Eagles - they have their heads on," said Savannah Peterson, of Northeast Philadelphia. "They've been blasting through this season. Hopefully, they make it to the playoffs."
