It was a big sendoff for the Wildcats.

VILLANOVA, Pa. (WPVI) -- The campus held a big sendoff for the Villanova Wildcats as they head to Houston for the Final Four.

The fans went wild as head coach Jay Wright and the Wildcats boarded the buses and began their trek Wednesday afternoon.

Earlier in the day, as seniors realized it was their final practice of at the Davis Center, Daniel Ochefu and Ryan Arcidiacono bent down to kiss the V in the center of the court. That did not go unnoticed by an emotional head coach Jay Wright.

"The seniors are just incredible and I love the pride they take in this program. When those guys, when they kissed the court today, that just said it all to me," Wright said.

The pre-Final Four hype is in full swing and fans need their navy Nova gear.

Bob Pierzynski came all the way from Williamstown, New Jersey.

"It's crazy. I can't explain it," Pierzynski said.

The team leaves for Houston this afternoon, followed by the Villanova Band on Thursday.

For band members, it's a dream come true.

"It's just absolutely insane to just have that experience," Breana Garvin said.

Freshman Lizzy Farley will be heading down to Houston to cheer on her Wildcats.

The flight leaves Friday and going to class until then isn't easy.

"I am amped. I'm ready. Go Cats!" Farley said.

The university received 700 game tickets from the NCAA.
