PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The former punter for the New York Giants is apparently trying to get in the heads of Eagles fans prior to Monday night's showdown.

Steve Weatherford shared a photo on social media Sunday night of his jersey draped over the Rocky statue outside the Philadelphia Art Museum.

His caption reads: "#TeamWeatherford has invaded the city of brotherly love.... Can't wait to see my brothers get to work on #MNF Photo Cred: @Teddyv28 via Twitter #NYG #Giants"

Weatherford reacted to the obvious backlash with tweets like:

"I didn't put it there. And you can't "disgrace" a fiction champion. Much like your teams titles---> FICTIONAL"

And there's this one:

"These are so cute...... #IRememberMyFirstBeer"

"That's cute. Funny how a "non-NFL" nobody has more rings than your "ENTIRE-NFL" city..."

Eagles Safety Malcolm Jenkins had a short and sweet tweet in response: "#puntersgetnolove"
