Former Penn State offensive lineman Adam Gress has died, the school confirmed Friday.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office reported Gress, 26, was found dead Thursday afternoon at a home in Dormont, Pennsylvania. The medical examiner's office did not immediately release a cause of death.

Gress played for Penn State from 2009 to 2013, starting as a fifth-year senior in 2013. He signed a free-agent contract with the NFL's New York Giants but did not make the team's roster in 2014.
