NFL owners asked to hand over cell phone records, emails in Kaepernick's collusion case. Nydia Han reports during Action News at 9 a.m. on November 4, 2017.

ABC News has learned that several NFL owners are being asked to turn over correspondence they had about former NFL Quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

The quarterback claims that some of the NFL's most powerful owners colluded to keep him out of football.

Owners who have made public comments about Kaepernick or the national anthem protest, are being asked to hand over cell phone records and emails.

Kaepernick has filed grievance against all 32 team owners.

Several NFL head coaches and general managers wanted to sign the quarterback, but then decided not to.
