MINNEAPOLIS -- Fast-food restitution has come to Minnesota Vikings coach Mike Zimmer.

The coach and his staff have been hunkered down at the team facility in Eden Prairie, Minn., since the Vikings' 38-7 loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday afternoon, preparing for Thursday's game against the Arizona Cardinals. Zimmer slept at the facility Sunday night, and when he finally went home for the first time on Monday, his tough luck continued.

"I went to McDonald's on the way home because I was hungry and ordered two cheeseburgers and I only got one. That's the kind of week it's been," he said Tuesday.

Asked why he didn't use his clout as the Vikings' coach to make sure the drive-through fixed the order, Zimmer quipped, "They probably did [know who I am]. That's probably why I only got one."

Now, thanks to the wonder of social media, Zimmer will get his second burger -- along with some free grub for his team.

McDonald's Minnesota tweeted on Wednesday morning it would send 100 burgers to Zimmer and the Vikings, after seeing the story of the coach's drive-through mishap on local TV. "That's not how we show love," the tweet read. "We're sending Coach Zimmer and the @Vikings 100 free burgers. Now it's THAT kind of week."

The Vikings typically have a catered meal in the locker room after their last full practice of the week. Depending on how quickly their gift arrives, it's possible their Wednesday lunch has been taken care of before they head to Arizona.
