Suspicious item removed from front of Stanton Middle School in Delaware

WILMINGTON (WPVI) -- A suspicious item has been removed from the front of a middle school in Wilmington, Delaware, police say.

Delaware State Police say the item was discovered on a sidewalk in front of Stanton Middle School at 1800 Limestone Road.

Troopers closed both the northbound and southbound lanes of Limestone Road in between Route 4 and Hendry Avenue while they investigated.

Stanton Middle School students were dismissed on time.

This investigation is still ongoing.
