READING, Pa. (WPVI) -- A Berks County woman is facing charges for allegedly assaulting a police officer following a massive brawl, involving hundreds of students.
It happened Tuesday at Reading Intermediate High School.
Police said the initial brawl started between a few female students, but soon turned chaotic with as many as 400 juveniles fighting in a park across the street from the school.
Police said Aracelys Robles-Alvarez's daughter was one of the juveniles taken into custody.
Robles-Alvarez was arrested after she reportedly kicked an officer in the groin while trying to free her child from a police van.
Another officer was punched in the face by a student, police said.
Police eventually had to use pepper spray to break up the crowd.
Ten students were cited for disorderly conduct and harassment.
