LANSDALE, Pa. (WPVI) -- A disabled tractor-trailer caused some traffic trouble on the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-476).

The big rig broke down at 6:30 a.m. Tuesday in the right southbound lane of the two-lane highway between the Lansdale exit and the Mid-County Interchange.

There were no reports of injuries, but traffic was backed up for miles as motorists merged from two lanes down to one as they worked to get around the disabled truck.

The vehicle appeared to have been moved by 8 a.m., but an extensive backup remained.

Motorists were advised to seek alternate routes.
