WESTAMPTON TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- A police chase on the New Jersey Turnpike ended with a crash in Burlington County on Tuesday afternoon.

It all began around 2 p.m. in Cranbury Township, Middlesex County and continued southbound into Westampton Twp.

The crash happened near the Mount Holly exit.

The view from Chopper 6 showed a heavily-damaged vehicle on its roof with debris scattered around the scene.

One person was taken away by a medical helicopter. There was no immediate word on specific injuries.

Police say the 30 mile chase began when officers tried to pull the driver over for a moving violation.

An investigation into this incident continues.
