A driver lost control and his vehicle slammed into a corner grocery store in Camden, New Jersey.

CAMDEN, N.J. (WPVI) -- A driver lost control and his vehicle slammed into a corner grocery store in Camden, New Jersey.

The accident happened around 5:30 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of Marlton Pike and Berwick Street.

Police say the driver's car jumped the curb before slamming into the store.

Police say the driver fled on foot after the crash, but was found a block away on the 2100 block of Sewell Street.

He was found lying on the sidewalk and was taken to Cooper Hospital with nonlife threatening injuries.

The grocery store had substantial structure damage after the impact.

The city building inspector is trying to determine the stability of the building.
