I-495 NB lanes blocked after truck flips over in Minquadale, Delaware

MINQUADALE, Del. (WPVI) -- A single-vehicle crash blocked northbound lanes on I-495, and left the driver seriously injured in Minquadale, Delaware.

The accident happened around 2:30 p.m. Friday on I-495 near Route 13.

Police said the 35-year-old driver of a pickup truck was traveling southbound when the driver lost control and went off the highway.

The vehicle flipped over several times before landing in the northbound lanes.

The driver, and lone occupant of the vehicle, was trapped for 15 minutes while fire company personnel worked to free him from the wreckage, police said.

He was treated on the scene for head, face and neck injuries before being taken to Christiana Hospital in stable condition.

The northbound lanes were blocked while officials cleared the scene and conducted an investigation.
