Police say a man crashed his car after suffering a heart attack in Southwest Philadelphia.

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police say a man crashed his car after suffering a heart attack in Southwest Philadelphia.

The accident happened around 12:30 a.m. Saturday near the intersection of 46th Street and Woodland Avenue.

Witnesses tell Action News it appeared the 25-year-old man suffered some sort of medical condition before he collided with another vehicle.

"I tried to open the door and it was still in drive so I got on my radio and radioed my department to call 911.

"911 responded and they broke the glass and they got the guy out and they laid him out. He was kind of blue in the face, and they resuscitated him," said Brian Guinn, witness.

They say they found him unconscious inside his locked vehicle.

Medics confirmed the medical condition was a heart attack.

The victim was taken to a local hospital. No word on his condition at this time.

No other injuries were reported.
