A crash involving a plow truck and downed power lines has shut down Route 202 in both directions in Chester County.

TREDYFFRIN TWP., Pa. (WPVI) -- Route 202 has reopened in both directions after a crash involving a plow truck and downed power lines shut down the busy highway for about an hour in Chester County.

It happened before 6 a.m. Tuesday near the Route 29 interchange in Malvern, Pa.

Police tell Action News a plow truck with its equipment raised hit some power lines.

The lines fell across both lanes of Route 202, bringing traffic to a standstill.

Images from Sky 6 near the scene showed large four-lane traffic backups developing in each direction.

Motorists trying to escape the traffic backlog were seen driving the wrong way off entrance ramps.

Utility crews arrived on the scene and were able to clear both sides of the road within an hour.

Traffic was moving again by 7 a.m.

There were no reports of injuries.
