OLDMANS TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- A tour bus carrying about 50 people caught fire on the New Jersey Turnpike.

It happened around 5:00 p.m. Sunday in the northbound lanes near mile marker 7.5 in Oldmans Township, Salem County.

Police say the bus broke down and pulled over to the side of the road when suddenly it broke out in flames.

Fortunately all the passengers onboard made it out safely.

The northbound lanes were shut down as crews worked to put out the flames.

The fire was put out in about 20 minutes and all lanes reopened.

No word yet on what caused the bus to catch fire.
